Searchable PDF

Scans you can't search are just pictures — OCR adds the invisible text layer that makes every word selectable.

Your scanner made a photo of a document, not a document. Upload the scan and the lab runs OCR over every page, embedding a hidden text layer — so you can search, select and copy text from the downloaded PDF.

Questions, answered

What does 'searchable PDF' mean?

The original scan stays exactly as it looks, but an invisible layer of recognized text is added underneath — Ctrl+F works, and you can select and copy words.

How accurate is the OCR?

Very good on clean scans; faint or skewed pages may have a few misread words — the visible image is unchanged either way.

Does it change how my PDF looks?

No — the pages look identical. The text layer is invisible until you search or select.

Is it free?

Yes — 10 documents free every month, no sign-up. Files are deleted after processing.
